Call it a Comeback

Random 10!!!!
I know, I know we missed YOU!
Stop it, really....

1. If He Tries Anything - Out of Range - Ani D.
can't wait to see her this summer. It's been a while.
2. Grey - Reckoning/ Revelling - Ani D.
mmmm hmmmm. can't wait to see her live
3. Under the Bridge - BloodSugarSexMagik-RHCP
classic. Like their new doube album too. Last night , Piddy called me to say that his coworker
would get us free tix to see them in October, but we're not going to live here in October.
Dilemma. I talked him through it, suggesting this be a BAD reason to not move to NM w/ me
and that since it is a TOUR they will surely be playing somewhere in the southwest, too.
4. Sovay - Mysterious Production of Eggs - Andrew Bird
had this one in today. He is playing a free show in Pittsburgh June 7. I'd like to go.
5. Agent Scanner 12- Counter Attack Now - Eye of the Cyclops - Mixmaster Mike
ehhhhhhh
6. 5 million ways to kill a CEO - Party Music - The Coup
so the Coup is coming to cleve, again, and I am not going to see it - one, because dipshit whiteboy MC Homeless, the worst thing to ever happen to hip hop in Ohio, is once again opening, and two beause what is with the guest female rotation?! Like next time it will be me, on tour with Boots Riley promoting radical political hip hop. WHERE IS PAM the FUNKSTRESS? someone, please tell me whats up
7. Watch that Man - Aladdin Sane - David Bowie
sweet
8. Crane/ White Lightning - Kill Bill Soundtrack - RZA -
always a tense moment for me when this one comes on at Talkies. lots o cussing
9. Spin SPin Sugar- Sneaker Pimps - album ?
anthem of the party days. you know "party". also on heavy rotation when i worked at the hair salon
10. Pin- Fever to Tell- Yeah Yeah Yeahs-
i love this band and this album and their new one more and more each listen. Fever to tell is better as an album but the new one has some excellent tracks too
I am satisfied with this random 10. not bad. gotta add to the ipod... add to the ipod

What's New -

You ask of Silk E. Well, nothing really but after browsing some of my fave blogspots, I am all about adding to the content of our newborn blog -a-licious. So here I sit. I have been letting The Deuce paruse (is this a word? is this how it's spelled?) the outdoor perameter of the house these past few days. Just now, I went out to bring him in, and he was standing in the middle of the sidewalk in front of the house, and he looked at me as if to say "Oh, hey. I was just going to pop in to the southside and pound a few, but I suppose since you've come out, I'll head on in the house".
I have concluded that the VERY funky odor that sometimes takes over this here house, and suspiciously cannot be traced to a source has got to be the compost bin in the kitchen. It does not make since that a few times, the entire house has been a-stink but not near said bin. Regardless, I am sure that this is the case, as i just went to put something in the garbage right next to this bin, and I nearly fell over, and it is the very same odor. I'll have to alert the composting roommates as I have absolutely nothing to do with this practice or this stinky bin in the kitchen.
I totally have the next 2 days off - can anyone believe it!! I should be working all the time for the cash money, but i will make some of that on saturday, the opening saturday of the open air market on market square which means absolute madess for me. So I am going to savor my days off in the summer weather.
My officially infected ear is getting better, thanks to drops prescribed by my doctor. Thank God. I thought I was done for.
Tonight is the finale of Top Chef on Bravo - who will win? I hope it is Harold, as Tiffany is a total asshole. This is a fabulous show, those of you who don't know. I'm sure you can catch it on reruns.
I would like to utilize the blog to ask folks to please comment on movies that i should totally get via netflix . Lately, netflix has gone the way of my gym membership - i pay for it monthly but do not use it! This is terribly NOT COOL. The last batch of flix i got included Pink Flamingos (John Waters filth), Like Water for Chocolate, and the Best of Will Ferrel 2. The Will Ferrel was not all that and I did not watch either of the other two because I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE IT. WHat the hell is my problem? I can't expalin it. I will next get capote, the crying game , it's all gone pete tong. i think i will watch them all. anyway suggestions would be supercool. and if i have already seen you r suggestion, it may still be helpful b/c i can rate it on netflix resulting in more netflix generated suggestions. I have wasted a substantial amount of time, so i think i will go waste some offline.---

Another Saturday Night...

...you know the Cat Stevens song. Does not exactly apply to me at the moment, but it is another Saturday night. And here I sit, at the house of Dr. J, doing laundry and eating pizza. Where's Dr. J, you wonder? She went to Chicago for the day to go shopping. Mmmm-hmmm. Must be nice. Hopefully, she kept her usually rag-laden daughter in mind.
It has been an odd week for me , personally. From my mysteriously lengthy illness with changing symptoms by the day, to the OC appearance of Chief for sad and unfortunate reasons, to the second of Rufus' seizures, to an abundance of crazy and stressy energy at a particular coffee shop...
Anyway, that week is at an end, and I am looking forward to a rockin' Sunday at the crackshack, despite the forecasted chilly potentially rainy weather.
In other news, Piddy's leading role in a movie has landed at an Internationaly acclaimed film festival in San Diego at the end of July. That's right. Guess who's going to San Diego? Woo-hoooo.
Well I would just LOVE to bust out a random 10 right now, but alas, i am ipod-less. I could do one from Dr. J's collection but it just would not be the same. Shout out to J.ho and Taj for attempting to plan a bowling night tonight.... one to come, for sure , and also for offering the Taj Mahal ( that's the house of Taj) as a place for me to launder my dirty clothes. Peace out for now -

Ever have one of those...

Ever have one of those experiences where you have probably had a one-hit or maybe two and you think to yourself, "I've got to compile a random mix c.d. to celebrate my 23rd birthday!".
And when three, almost four, years later you stumble upon said random mix c.d. and pop it in to your cd player you are LAUGHING SO HARD you almost run right off the road, because, under certain aforementioned circumstances, of course the following twenty songs make up the perfect mix c.d. I mean, of course! Yes, my friends, this happened to me, J.Ho., known for my discriminating taste in all things musical...here is the list

1. Alanis Morisette, All I really Want (I think that is the title) Teen anguish spills over into my twenties, obviously.
2. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Californication Its easy to get lost in this song, especially with the help of MJ.
3. Moby featuring Gwen Stefani, South Side (I think--the one where she's all blinged out). No comment.
4. CSNY, Helplessly Hoping This one is so romantic...always makes me think of the seventies (I'm not sure why....)
5. CSNY, Title Unknown...pretty nondescript.
6. Theme song from t.v.'s The Jefferson's, we are moving on up, indeed I hope these songs move up too.
7. Carole King, Natural Woman, what?
8. Carole King, I Feel the Earth Move, what?
9. Unknown, Ain't no Sunshine when she's gone, I think someone sang this on American Idol, yes I admit, I watched the first season.
10. Stevie Wonder, Overjoyed, This is the first of four, yes FOUR, Stevie Wonder hits on this mix. I love me some Stevie. Can you believe we are only on song ten? With such a great mix!
11. Stevie Wonder, Superstitious, excellent.
12. Mary J. Blige, Mary's Back, ummmm...
13. Unknown, Squeezebox, "Momma's got a squeezebox, daddy never sleeps at night".
I know, I know, can't you just see the logic of this mix?

Well, readers, you are going to have to wait, with breathless anticipation, for songs 14-20. I can't seem to remember them now. Aren't the top thirteen delicious, though?
Special thanks to John Seebock, for encouraging a young 23 year old to choose her own mix c.d.
