Thursday random 10

inpired by, MJ, I thought I'd jump back on this wagon. It's Thursday, and I would be giving my second massage of the day had the lady not cancelled on me. So, I have some time to kill. I suppose most folks are happy that the weekend is approaching. Sadly, i spend all of my weekends working at the co-op, this one shall be no different. I pretty much hate the co-op at this stage in the game. I save alot of money on food, a major bonus. That aside, these bitches are on my last nerve with their communist work ethics. It is essentilly impossible to get time off, a day off, whatever because the whole place is short staffed and they seem to like things that way.
I have been sooooooo looking forward to my benefits kicking in, which they should have by now, yes, even part timers get them. I received a packet with my name on it for ME , filled it out and sent it in and waited....
Learned yesterday that I don't get insurance because I dont work enough hours. Said packet mentioned many times that all employees w/ more than 20 hours a week get insurance. My schedule consists of three 7 hour shifts, which doesnt factor in that closing at 9 means clocking out at however long after 9, so i am good. No, no I am not because I have not yet AVERAGED 20 hours a week b/c I have had time off since being hired. Well, suck my balls is all i have to say to that. Thanks for the tease of a packet with my fucking name on it and the bonus tooth brush from the dental company, that will help my sad ass teeth alot. I hope I can transition to doing massage full time soon, and pay for my groceries, perhaps that will lead to me losing some weight.
Onto the music:

1. How You Went So Far - Frank Black from black letter days. I havent listened to this cd in a while, as i prefer a few of his other ones but i do liek this song alot.

2. Holiday song - Pixies live at Coachella. S'more Frank, one of my favorite pixies songs

3. Do It - Beastie boys from ill communication. classic. reminding me of a recent squidbillies episode " do it to it" in which they make fun of redneck comedians and their whack ass content. If only someone in the world of ther that Piddy knew what I was talking about... (watch squidbillies)

4. Coming on the Hudson - Thelonius Monk from criss cross. second as my favorite t. monk album to underground.
5. Justice to the people - Lee Perry and the upsetters. yes, some of that would be nice for the people.

6. If you could save yourself - ween from quebec. I dont think i've ever listened to this song, but the ween boys are some creative geniuses, that i know. I dont remember the name of the album they made locked in the studio doing a bunch of inhalants. not this one, i dont think. and who doesn't love their "fancy pants "jingle?

7. First in FLight - BLackalicious from blazing arrow. awesome, as all things ending in -alicious have always been.

8. THe big picture - bright eyes from lifted.. - I listen to this song alot, b/c it is a really good, intense song. Why can some people yell angst filled poetry into a mic and make it great, where as if i did that i'd look and sound like a total ass? I guess that is why i have never been an artist, but always drawn to/ aprreciative of them.

9. The legend of zelda theme song. hmmm. I can't imagine what this track is doing in the itunes library. who would be such a dork as to need this 45 second soundbit in their life? cetainly not I.

10. Let Me Go - Cake from prolonging the magic. Love me some cake ( of the literal and musical varieties), and have been on a cake kick lately, particularly motorcade of generosity. what an album, and a first major album too. go ahead, cake. I overdosed on all of the cake albums when working at talkies. that was unfortunate, but i have fully recovered.

Well, I'm off. I notice that "Dude looks like a lady" did not come up on the random 10, probably b/c I have not listened to aerosmith in 15 years or so. Still waiting to see those classic pics. I promise to delete the email once I've enjoyed them. Even though my 3 year old naked ass has graced this blog, i understand the human need for some dignity and all.
